Wanamaker Elementary School

The Wanamaker secretaries have come up with a PAWSOME design this year celebrating MARGO! The limited edition shirt designed by the front office is now live on the spirit store! Mrs. Wiltz has gathered all the donations for the food drive and calculated the winners! She has so many donations, she can't move in her office! There were 2817 items that were donated. Mrs. Macha's class donated the most at 506 items. The classes in each grade that donated the most items and won a pizza party are-
OK- Sharples
1st- Macha
2nd- Orr
3rd- Greene
4th- Kromminga
5th- Fewell
6th- Tie between Augustine and Stephenson

Congratulations to these students that raised the most money for the American Heart Association in their respective PE classes. Way to go! 😊


Wanamaker is celebrating Green Day, tomorrow, March 7th! No green to wear? No problem! Student Council is selling items today and tomorrow (March 7th) Prices range from $0.25 to $1. Your student can purchase temporary tattoos, bracelets, beads or leis.

We had a special guest reader this morning! Thank you to the Kansas Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson for visiting today and reading to our students!

Kansas Education Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson visited Ms. McKibben's kindergarten class at Wanamaker Elementary School this morning to read to students in celebration of Read Across America Week. Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association, Read Across America encourages and celebrates reading. Thank you for your visit, Commissioner Watson, and for your animated reading of "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover."


We want to congratulate Daarshini Ganesh! Her artwork titled "Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover" was selected to represent Wanamaker Elementary this month for Youth Art Month! You can view her masterpiece at the Topeka Public Library. Please go see her work and vote for her piece to win People's Choice!
