Mrs.
Brownlee is starting her 28th year of teaching and her 20th year at Wanamaker
Elementary. Before that, she taught 4th grade for eight years in Southeast
Kansas near Pittsburg, KS. She received her BS Degree in Elementary Education
from Wichita State University and her MA Degree in Curriculum and Instruction
from St. Mary University in Leavenworth. She and her husband have two
grown sons who are married, and 6 grandchildren. Mrs. Brownlee enjoys
water skiing, exercising, singing, reading, and helping her husband with
remodeling projects. I'll bet you didn't know that she lays ceramic tile
floors and builds beautiful deck flooring and railings.
Mrs. Brownlee will be retiring at the close of this school year. |
Mrs.
Gilbert completed her thirty-first year of teaching last spring.
She is currently in her twentieth year at Wanamaker. Prior to Wanamaker,
she taught one year in U.S.D. 501 and eleven years in Kentucky.
Mrs. Gilbert has a B.S. degree and a M.A.E. degree from Western Kentucky
University. She enjoys poetry by Helen Steiner Rice, music (particularly
patriotic, country, gospel, oldies & easy listening), basketball,
and spending time with family and friends. She has one daughter
who attends Washburn University and is student teaching this semester
in the Seaman School district. |

Mrs.
Ives is very excited to be beginning her sixth year of teaching fifth
grade at Wanamaker. This is her sixteenth year of teaching. She used to
teach special education and fifth grade in the Shawnee Heights School
District. She received her BS and MS degrees from Kansas State University,
therefore, she is a HUGE Wildcats fan!! She and her husband have two sons.
When she is not at work, she enjoys reading, playing golf and softball,
riding motorcycles, and watching KSU football games! |
This
is Mrs. Lang's eighth year teaching at Wanamaker, and her sixth teaching
fifth grade. She taught first grade for two years. She graduated from
Washburn University with a degree in Elementary Education. She and her
husband have a daughter, a son, a cat and a puppy. She is a devoted Jayhawk
fan and loves watching football. In her limited amount of free time, she
loves playing softball and golf and reading books by Nicholas Sparks. |
