Mrs. Brownlee is starting her 28th year of teaching and her 20th year at Wanamaker Elementary. Before that, she taught 4th grade for eight years in Southeast Kansas near Pittsburg, KS. She received her BS Degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University and her MA Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Mary University in Leavenworth. I'll bet you didn't know that she lays ceramic tile floors and builds beautiful deck flooring and railings. Mrs. Brownlee will be retiring at the close of this school year.
Mrs. Gilbert completed her thirty-first year of teaching last spring.  She is currently in her twentieth year at Wanamaker.  Prior to Wanamaker, she taught one year in U.S.D. 501 and eleven years in Kentucky.  Mrs. Gilbert has a B.S. degree and a M.A.E. degree from Western Kentucky University.  She enjoys poetry by Helen Steiner Rice, music (particularly patriotic, country, gospel, oldies & easy listening), basketball, and spending time with family and friends.  She has one daughter who attends Washburn University and is student teaching this semester in the Seaman School district.
