I am Maureen Hillis and this is my sixth year at Wanamaker. This will be my 24th year of teaching. I have taught fourth through eighth grades, but have the most experience at the sixth grade level. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State and have added endorsements in middle level (5th-8th grade) Science and Mathematics. I have completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Washburn University. Before coming to Wanamaker, I was teaching Science and Advanced Math at Jardine Middle School in Topeka. I have a dog named Molly and two cats named Katie and Vanessa. I have no children but I have 10 nieces and nephews who are great to be around. In my spare time, I can usually be found in my garden. |
