Wanamaker Library is used for many different purposes. Story time, library skills, research, and leisure reading are all reasons to come to the library.
Everybody Wins!, a program sponsored by Big Brother and Big Sisters, often meets in the library for the students and adult readers to share Wanamaker library books while the students eat lunch.
The primary students often listen to a story and do an activity while checking out new books for the week. The intermediate students are engaged in discussions and games that teach library skills and how to research. Many students also take AR (Accelerated Reader) quizzes in the library as well as other computer work. |
